John Waters Night: Pink Flamingos

  • HOME Manchester 2 Tony Wilson Place Manchester, England, M15 4FN United Kingdom (map)

A riotous screening of the John Waters underground classic...hold on to your sick bag!

Sleaze queen Divine lives in a caravan with her mad hippie son Crackers and her 250-pound mother Mama Edie, trying to rest quietly on their laurels as “the filthiest people alive.”

But competition is brewing in the form of Connie and Raymond Marble, who sell heroin to schoolchildren and kidnap and impregnate female hitchhikers, selling the babies to lesbian couples. Finally, they challenge Divine directly, and battle commences...

Even among John Waters’ controversial filmography, Pink Flamingos stands out as a production that pushes, and then gleefully exceeds, the boundaries of good taste. Not for the faint of heart – or stomach – it is beloved by fans of filmic filth.

In this special screening brave viewers will be be presented with their very own sick bag and a special edible gift to eat during the final scene of the film. Filthy!

Arrive early to enjoy The Filthiest Carnival Alive - a circus celebrating John Waters - and stay after the film for DJs and a divine drag cabaret and DJ Matthew Rothery (Kiss Me Again).
